Helping Skin Look Healthy
Skin is an amazing organ. It constantly regenerates itself with new skin cells. It is flexible and yet extremely durable. If it gets damaged it can even heal itself. This organ really is something special. Even though the skin is amazing it still has needs our help to keep it healthy. Dead skin cells don’t fall of like they should all the time and our skin’s pores have a tendency to collect dirt and oil.
When we don’t take care of our skin it starts to have breakouts. Some breakouts can bring with it severe acne that can actually damage the skin and cause scarring. The skin needs our help to keep it clean and properly maintained. Let’s look at some quick ways that we can help our skin stay healthy.
One way is to switch our make-up, moisturizers, lotions, hair and body soap to products that are non acnegenic. This term just lets us know that the particular product has been formulated to not clog pores. Any product that touches our skin should be non acnegenic. Otherwise we invite pimples to spring up.
Consistent washing of the face and body is another helpful tip. After getting sweaty, like from working out, it is a good idea to take a shower immediately to get the sweat off before it has a chance to clog the pores. Working out is the obvious activity but any activity that makes us sweat we need to take a shower soon afterwards. It is also a good idea to shower after swimming. The chemicals that are used in pools can clog pores and irritate the skin.
Switching to non acnegenic skincare products is a great start in helping keep our amazing skin clean. Followed up with consistent bathing after activities that make us sweat and those breakouts should reduce in frequency dramatically.
