Selecting Plush Easter Baskets for Little Ones
When we think about Easter baskets, most of us think about straw baskets filled with green filler shredded to mimic grass. Sitting atop the “grass” kids usually find milk chocolate bunnies or creme filled chocolate eggs. The idea may be still appropriate for school age kids, or even older pre-schoolers. However, for our toddlers we must put safety first. Parents don’t think of Easter baskets are being dangerous and they really are not, unless our little toddlers start running with them. A trip and the little one could fall and scratch himself or poke himself with a protruding stick of straw or rattan.
When it comes to new Easter basket ideas for toddlers, the cloth Easter basket is one of the best. Shaped like a soft basket with a handle, the cloth baskets could be embroidered, personalized, or even plush and fluffy. The Elmo Easter basket is red, plush, and looks remarkably like Elmo — at least, Elmo’s head. Kids will love it! For those who have not fallen for Elmo and Sesame Street yet, there are plush bunny baskets with floppy ears. There are even Spider-Man cloth baskets for the little adventurer. In case the child loved Pixar’s CARS, there is even a plush basket shaped like McQueen.
Toddlers will love the cloth baskets. In fact, most of the baskets are large enough to hold a pair of toddler’s pajamas once the egg hunting is over and forgotten for the year. Filling the toddler’s Easter basket with a milk chocolate bunny or a couple of creme filled eggs will make Easter morning the highlight of the holiday.
If there is one thing to remember when making a selection of Easter basket it is safety first. No matter how much the little tyke loves the basket if he can be harmed by it or any of its contents, the best of Easter mornings can go bad. Always check manufacturer’s age recommendations when buying either the basket or the filler for the toddler.
