The Pros and Cons of Popping Pimples
The appearance of pimples is a very common phenomenon in most human beings. It is a natural process that starts with puberty and ends after a couple of years. But for some people, pimples may stay with you even till a mature age. Popping pimples is also a very common phenomenon with anyone with acne prone skin. It is an ongoing argument whether pimple popping is a good or a bad thing to do.
Many believe that pimple popping is one of the quickest and easiest ways to tackle the otherwise unruly pimples and when popped properly it should leave no marks. Teenagers are always eager to look beautiful and take help of shortcut resorts. When a pimple is popped, the pus is squirted out and if the area is quickly touched with an antiseptic is less susceptible to leave any mark.
Many suggest not to pop pimples with your hands and especially not unwashed hands. Dirty nails may sometimes cause infection. First of all, the hands should be completely sanitized before touching the skin. Next use cotton balls or a tissue and a needle to help you to squeeze out the zit. Clear the pus that comes out with a clean cotton swab and make sure that no part of your hands comes into contact with the zit.
But others believe that pimple popping is not a very wise thing to do and if once it goes wrong the repercussion will be visible for the rest of one’s life. If a pimple that has not yet surfaced properly is popped, it will definitely leave behind a very ugly scar. It is better to leave them alone and let them clear out naturally. Local application of benzyl peroxide or salted water may also be helpful.
To pop a pimple is actually an extremely tempting and annoying habit and is very hard to control. In some lucky cases it may result in clear skin, but in most cases it may force the infection further into the skin and result in more appearance of pimples. Find the right treatment for your acne problem and see the acne disappear in no time, leaving behind smooth clear skin.
