Zojirushi Rice Cooker Review – Japanese Electronics
There are a few different Japanese manufacturers that sell their rice cookers in the American market. For example Sanyo, Panasonic, Tiger and Zojirushi all have a range of their products for sale. In this Zojirushi rice cooker review I want to discuss some of the features of their machines that make them so popular in Japan and in the West.
To start off with, Zojirushi have plenty of different models on sale from relatively cheap electric rice cookers, through their Micom range, all the way up to their Induction Heating models. The most popular rice cooker in America, of any brand, is the Zojirushi NS-LAC05 3 cup device. To be honest, their machine are very high quality. But you get the best from your purchase if you choose a Micom rice cooker. These appliances have inside them a micro computer controller that is in charge of the cooking operation. It is responsible for the length of the cooking period as well as the inner cooking bowl’s temperature. In effect, a Micom rice cooker almost guarantees that you will get perfect rice whenever you use it.
Zojirushi Micom machines start at a little over $100. This is a price that is well worth paying if you want the best. In fact, their machines actually go up to over $400. This is for an Induction Heating rice cooker that also has a Variable Pressure Control. If you choose not to get the pressure cooking option and elect for an Induction Heating Micom machine you can expect to pay about $250. This is the sort of machine that I have and after using standard Micom cookers previously, I can say for sure that the difference the Induction Heating function makes is easily noticeable.
It really comes down to getting what you pay for. The more you spend on a Zojirushi rice cooker, the better the rice that it will be able to make for you.
